Lauren Edwards named Aledo ISD Director of Community Development and Engagement

Lauren Edwards has been named the Aledo ISD Director of Community Development and Engagement, spearheading a new position for the district that will focus on community partnerships, sponsorships and advertising for the district.
“We are excited to have Lauren join our district in this new position that will help the district manage all of the partnerships we have - from career and technical education practicum partners to Buchanan Stadium scoreboard partners - and ensure we are connecting to our local community for the greatest benefit for our students and staff,” Superintendent Dr. Susan Bohn said. “We have so many incredible partnerships already, and we can’t wait for Lauren to expand on those and find other opportunities for our local businesses and community to get involved with our district.”
The Director of Community Development and Engagement position takes some of the duties of the former assistant superintendent of student and community programs position and adds in development and overseeing grants as the district seeks to find new funding sources given inadequate state funding.
Edwards has been the executive project manager to the CEO, Chairman and Executive team at Simpli.fi since April 2020. Prior to that, she spent seven years as a vice president of operations, media and advertising at Envirotx. Edwards was the director of development and marketing at H.O.P.E. Farm, Inc., as the organization secured funding, grants and strategic partnerships for innovative educational programs and classroom resources.
“I am incredibly honored and excited to join the amazing team at Aledo ISD,” Edwards said. “Having spent years volunteering with the district and the Aledo Education Foundation, this community holds a very special place in my heart. Combined with my experience in ad-tech and the corporate world, I feel uniquely positioned to step into this role and help create meaningful, lasting partnerships that support our students and schools. I am deeply grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to get started. I truly love Aledo and believe we have a powerful story worth sharing.”
Edwards currently serves in the Aledo community as the outgoing president of the Aledo Education Foundation, having served on their board since 2022. She has also led as a co-chair of the 2023 Aledo ISD Attendance Zone Committee and volunteered with the Aledo ISD PTO. Edwards has a bachelor’s degree from TCU. She and her husband have two elementary-aged Bearcats.
